The Art & History of Glass Fusion

For me, glass fusion was a serendipitous journey that began with a fascination for the art of glass. Serendipity Glass Designs is the embodiment of that journey, an artistic endeavor that blends chance with meticulous craftsmanship.

So, what is glass fusion? It's the process of fusing layers of glass together in a kiln at temperatures as high as 1700 degrees. The result is a beautifully melded piece of glass that becomes the canvas for my creativity. Additional layers or types of glass are added, and the piece is fired again. Afterward, it undergoes cold working, grinding, and polishing, and if it's destined for a specific shape like a plate or bowl, it's fired a third time to achieve that form.

My journey began with crafting gifts for friends and family, and it blossomed into a thriving passion. The constant question, "Do you have a website?" paved the way for Serendipity Glass Designs. Today, I continue to pour my hearts into every piece, creating unique and one-of-a-kind glass art.

My process is a labor of dedication. Each piece, whether it's a functional plate or a mesmerizing jewelry item, carries the essence of my serendipitous journey. Explore my studio to discover the art, history, and passion behind Serendipity Glass Designs.
